Will I be turning over my assets to the Overlook Masonic Health Center?

As a resident of the Overlook Masonic Health Center you may:

  1. Manage your own funds
  2. Designate a responsible party (spouse, trustee, etc.) to handle your financial affairs
  3. Have the Overlook Masonic Health Center assume the responsibility of managing your assets on your behalf


Will I be asked to leave the Overlook Masonic Health Center if my money runs out?
No, provided you maintain eligibility for medical assistance from the State of Massachusetts (Medicaid/SSI/EAEDC). Please note that both the Medicaid and Medicare programs certify the Overlook Masonic Health Center.


Should I maintain supplemental health insurance?
The Overlook Masonic Health Center encourages members to maintain supplemental health insurance to Medicare. However, supplemental insurance is not required for admission to the Overlook Masonic Health Center. Please note that HMOs are not considered supplemental health insurance; they are considered Medicare intermediaries.
